Privacy Policy

Steady: Symptom Tracker keeps a health record, which is about as personal as data gets. So the design starts from not having it: there is no account, no server, and no copy of your records anywhere but your own iPhone. Nothing here is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you enter is written to a database inside the app on your device. That includes:
- Symptom names and the scores you give them, including flares you log during the day
- Factors you tick — foods, sleep, weather, whatever you choose to track
- Medications, their schedules, and the doses you mark as taken
- Period days, if you turn cycle tracking on
- Your daily notes
- Settings, including reminder times
We never receive any of it. There is no account to create, and the app does not ask for your name, your email address, or your date of birth. If you delete Steady, this data is deleted with it — so keep a backup first if you want to keep your history.
Cycle tracking
Cycle tracking is off until you turn it on, and it is stored exactly like everything else: on your phone only. There is no server holding it, no account it is attached to, and no backup we keep. If anyone asked us to produce your records, we could not — we do not have them. That is not a promise about how carefully we would handle a request; it is a consequence of the app having no server at all.
Apple Health (optional)
If you turn it on in Setup, Steady reads four things from Apple Health — time asleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability and step count — so that those can be tested against your symptoms without you logging them by hand. This is read only: Steady never writes anything to Health. The readings are not copied into Steady's own records either — they are read from Health when the analysis runs, used on your iPhone, and that is all.
It is off until you switch it on, and you can switch it off again in Setup. To revoke the permission itself, open the Health app, then Sharing, then Apps — iOS does not let an app revoke its own health access, only stop using it.
Analysis
The correlation analysis in Patterns runs on your iPhone, in the app, on your own records. Nothing is sent anywhere to be computed, and no part of it uses a remote service or a model hosted elsewhere.
Files you create
Backups, CSV exports and the doctor's report PDF are files Steady hands to the standard iOS share sheet when you ask for them. Where they go next is your choice, and once you choose, that destination's own terms apply — a file you save to iCloud Drive is covered by Apple's policy, one you email is handled by your mail provider. Steady does not send these files anywhere on its own.
Importing works the same way in reverse: the CSV you pick is read and parsed on your device, and nothing about it leaves your iPhone.
Reminders
The daily check-in reminder and medication reminders are local notifications scheduled by your iPhone. They do not go through our servers or any push notification service, and they work with no signal and in Airplane Mode.
Purchases
Steady's core is free. Steady Pro is a one-time purchase sold through the App Store — there is no subscription and no trial. Payment is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy, and we never see your payment details. Whether Pro is unlocked is answered by the App Store on your iPhone, which is also how restoring a purchase works on a new phone. Steady has no server and does not receive, store or transmit any purchase identifier.

What we do not do
- No analytics, usage tracking, crash reporting or telemetry of any kind
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party SDKs that collect data
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone, including data brokers
- No access to your contacts, location, camera, photos or microphone
- No writing to Apple Health — the connection is read only
- No accounts, no sign-in, no cloud sync
Children
Steady is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects nothing at all, there is nothing for us to hold or delete.
Not medical advice
Steady reports what is in your own record. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition and it does not recommend a course of action. A pattern it shows you is an observation about your data — something to raise with a clinician, not a conclusion to act on. Never start, stop or change a medication because of what the app shows.
Changes to this policy
If how Steady handles data ever changes, this page and the effective date above are updated, and anything material is also noted in the App Store release notes.
