Qrisp

Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026 · Applies to Qrisp: QR Code Generator for iPhone and iPad

Qrisp collects no data. There is no account, no server of ours, no advertising and no analytics. What you make stays on your device.

What stays on your device

The codes you save to My codes are stored inside the app on your iPhone or iPad. That includes what each code holds (a link, a Wi-Fi network and password, contact details, an event, a place or a message), the name you give it, its style, and any logo you added. Your settings are stored the same way.

We never receive any of it. If you delete Qrisp, this data is deleted with it. Codes you already printed or shared keep working, because each code holds its content itself.

Permissions, and what they are used for

Camera

Used only by the scanner, to read QR codes. Images from the camera are processed on your device while you scan and are never saved or sent anywhere.

Photos

When you choose a logo, or a photo of a code to check, iOS lets you pick that one picture; Qrisp does not see the rest of your library. Saving a code to Photos asks only for permission to add pictures, not to read them.

Location

Used only when you tap Use my location while making a location code, to put your current position into that code. It is read once, while you use the app. The position is kept only inside that code, on your device, if you save it to My codes; it is never sent anywhere. Qrisp never tracks your location in the background.

The one time Qrisp goes online

When a scanned code points to a link that forwards somewhere else, you can tap Show where it really goes. Only then, Qrisp contacts that link's own server to follow its redirects, just as a web browser would when opening it. That server sees an ordinary web request from your device, including your IP address, under its own privacy policy. Qrisp does not send anything else with it and receives nothing from it. Nothing else in the app uses the internet.

Files you create

Images, SVG files, PDFs and ZIP files are handed to the standard iOS share sheet or print dialog when you ask for them. Where they go next is your choice, and that destination's own terms apply. A CSV you import for batch codes is read on your device and not sent anywhere.

Purchases

Qrisp Pro is a one-time purchase through the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we never see your payment details. Whether Pro is unlocked is answered by the App Store on your device.
